The Documentary

The educational documentary portion of this episode discusses several basic facts about frogs and toads. Students are introduced to several exotic species of frogs like the Splendid Leaf Frog, Lemur Monkey Frog and the Coronated Tree Frog. Each species has its own unique adaptations to help it survive in its envirnment, like sticky padded feet, poisonous skin, webbed feet and bulging eyes. Students also learn about frog eggs, and a frog's journey from tadpole to adult. This documentary explains why frogs and toads are so important to Earth's fragile ecosystems, and to humans.

The Animated Adventure

JP Rothbone and his Sniveling Cronies are building their new Colossal Condo Complex deep in the Chilean rainforest. The indigenous tree frogs make too much noise at night, so JP hatches a fiendish plan to eliminate all the tree frogs in the rainforest. Bonehead and T-Bone are dispatched to the rainforest to stop JP before he can harm any frogs. Bonehead swings from the vines to save the frogs, dreaming of fame and notoriety. But as usual, he bungles the job and T-Bone saves the day.

In this educational documentary segment, students learn about a serious threat to the safety of thousands of amphibian species and the effects on many of Earth's fragile eco-system. The chytrid fungus is quickly wiping out thousands of frogs and toads across the globe, threatening more than half of all amphibian species. Students get a behind the scenes tour inside the Frog Pods at the Atlanta Botanical Gardens, where scientists are working at a feverish pitch to quarantine healthy frogs and find a cure.
